Equipment Availability

Due to this year's CA mandated R410A refrigerant phaseout contract pricing will be good for 30 Days unless otherwise stated. Eli's Heating & Air will discontinue the sales of R410A Equipment by July 1st.

Between the new Federal Administration's Tariff policy and the CA mandated refrigerant phaseout we will soon be facing many challenges within the HVAC Industry in San Diego. The two new refrigerants we will be using to replace R410A, R-454B and R-32 will soon be in short supply when the HVAC suppliers in CA run out of R410A equipment. They are already experiencing shortages of R-454B on the east coast and we estimate the suppliers will run out of R410A units at the end of July or August 2025. When this happens there will be major price increases, equipment shortages and equipment unavailability.

A2L Refrigerants

As stated above the two new A2L refrigerants most companies will be using are R-454B and R32. The most important thing homeowner's need to know about the new gas is that it is a low flammability propane blend. Due to the low flammable properties you won't want to trust HVAC Jobs to just any Handyman or Worker out of their truck anymore. With proper pressurization techniques our techs are able to ensure a sealed system and peace of mind! Visit our refrigerant transition page for more Information.

Our Recommendation

As we navigate the challenging future ahead, our techs usually have a Question for Homeowners that find themselves in an HVAC dilemma:

How Important to you is your own comfort, health, and safety?

This question is now more important than ever in regards to the new refrigerant's low flammable properties. We recommend, from our family to yours, that as you are dealing with your HVAC Problem, ask yourself this question a couple of times, and only deal with a reputable, licensed subcontractor who pulls permits. Most people wouldn't be willing to sacrifice any of those above three items just to save some money in the short term and neither should you.
